President
John E. Dods - Community Volunteer

John retired from one of the largest global companies based in the Bay Area as Director of Worldwide Corporate Facilities and Administration after a successful 40 year career. Since 2000, John has served as treasurer of his church, as a University Business School Professor in the evening program, and on the Board of Estrella Family Services. John has been the Board President since 2005, and has donated thousands of hours of his time at Estrella.

Paul Porrovecchio - Community Volunteer

Paul joined the Board of Directors at Estrella Family Services in 1990, and has served most of those years as Vice-President. Paul has donated over 4000 hours at EFS including a stint working full time for an entire year. While primarily involved in strategic matters and coordinating the annual Thanksgiving Dinner event for 250-400 people annually since 1994, Paul has contributed to EFS in a variety of roles often with the help of other former Hewlett-Packard employees. Paul�s background includes Data Center Management at AT&T, LED component Marketing at HP, and Enterprise Account Management at HP.

Sheffield Clarke - Community Volunteer

Sheff joined the Board in 1997, and is currently serving the Board as Treasurer. Sheff retired in 2002 with career experience in sales, marketing and manufacturing. Sheff is involved with Estrella due to its unique whole family support approach to child care.

Secretary
Karen L. Vanderpan - Community Volunteer

Karen joined the Estrella Family Services Board of Directors in 2000 and has served as Board Secretary since 2003. She has served on the boards of PTA, Little League, and most recently as President of a women�s organization. Karen enjoyed a career in real estate, which included mortgage banking, construction, residential and commercial law. She retired in 1999 from a large Palo Alto law firm as a legal secretary. As the grandmother of ten, she fully appreciates the educational values EFS provides for the children and families we serve.

Debra Paulsen - Program Manager at Logitech

Debra began supporting Estrella Family Services for years before she joined the Board in 2000 as part of her desire to improve the community and help those striving to improve their lives. Debra has leveraged her many years of Marketing experience in the technology industry to help Estrella with her process knowledge and leadership skills. Currently, Debra works in Program Management at Logitech.

Christine F. Beraldo - Attorney at Law

Christine has been serving on the boards of local non-profits that assist the homeless, provide legal services for low income and underserved communities, and promote civil rights. This dedication to community service began in grade school with philanthropic modeling by her parents with organizations such as St. Vincent de Paul, various schools, and the family church. As an attorney with an ongoing private practice in Santa Clara Valley since 1981, Christine joined the EFS Board of Directors in 2005.

Nicolas Rocha - Family & Children Services

After a career in real estate, Nic transitioned his vocation to the non-profit sector. From his experience at Family and Children Services, Nic�s offers a unique contribution to Estrella Family Services. Nic has assisted at events and on various committees since he joined the EFS Board in 2006.

Richard Hobbs - Attorney at Law, Associate Director at SIREN

Richard brings over 15 years of non-profit executive experience with Catholic Charities, Human Agenda, and Services, Immigrant Rights and Education Network (SIREN). He is currently Associate Director of SIREN and Executive Director of Human Agenda. Richard also served as an executive manager in the Office of Human Relations of Santa Clara County for 12 years and serves as a four-term member of the Governing Board of the San Jose-Evergreen Community College District.

Holly Fidrych - Community Volunteer

Holly brings about 20 years of past experience as a former CPA in Auditing, Accounting and Finance at various companies and industries (Software, Hardware,�Pharmaceutical, Sporting Goods)�throughout the Bay Area. She is married and�has a young child. Holly enjoys volunteering to help make her community a better place.� Holly wants to contribute her work experience to help Estrella through these difficult economic times (especially as it relates to the State Budget crisis).

Santiago Quijano - Engineering Consultant

Electrical Engineer with experience in telecommunications, computers and fluent in English, German and Spanish, and speaks and reads Portuguese. Santiago has much experience understanding and communicating with different cultures. His major reason for working with EFS is to help the families and kids part of EFS and the community in general. Santiago joined the Board in 2010.

Bob Zamora - Real Estate Investor

After a 20 year career at Xilinx and Advanced Micro Devices in Operations, Supply Chain Management, and Sales Operations Management, Bob transitioned his vocation to his personal investments and passions which include wine making, and helping with the Red Cross.� Bob joined the EFS Board in 2010.
